Artist residencies

In September and October I attended the Ballinglen artist residency in the small village of Ballycastle, Ireland. The collages and paintings on paper I made in my Irish studio were inspired by the green meadows divided into geometric shapes, debris washed up by the sea and Irish folk tales collected by Yeats.  Wonderful experiences with other artists and people in the village!

My second residency at the American Academy in Rome in January and February yielded over 20 paintings and collages on paper responding to Rome's complex layers of history, symbols and beauty.  I had the privilege of working in Philip Guston's former studio and met many inspiring artists, scholars and writers - Fred Wilson, Basil Twist, Karen Olivier and Mary Beard among them. For a preview of my work from Rome click here.

Am very excited to be at an artist's residency at La Napoule in southern France in September of 2019 followed by a second painting residency at Ballinglen in Ireland.

Group exhibition with other artists who also work in abstraction at the William Havu Gallery, opening June 14. Am honored to be invited to be in the second "Colorado Abstract Artists" exhibition at the Arvada Center in conjunction with the Kirkland Museum in the fall of 2019. Opening date and details to be announced soon!

My next solo exhibition at the Havu Gallery will be in the spring of 2020.
